About Me

I was born in Milwaukee in March of 1960. My husband, Michael Sinicki, and I have lived our entire lives in Bay View.

We have had the privilege of raising our two sons in the same community in which we we’re raised. This has made me uniquely qualified to represent this district in the State Legislature.

I am a graduate of Bay View High School. After graduation  I worked as a waitress until becoming manager of a small business in Bay View.

My involvement with my children’s education led me to a life of civil engagement and public service. I am a former PTA member and President. in 1991, after learning first-hand the issues facing public education, I ran successfully for Milwaukee Public School Board. I served on the School board until 1998, when I was elected to the State Assembly.

In 2012, I was re-elected to the State Assembly for a 7th term.  I currently serve on the committees for  Urban Education,Veterans and Military Affairs, Labor(ranking)and Government Operations and State Affairs(ranking).  As your Assembly Representative I make worker's rights, education and health care my top priorities. I am a member of the Wisconsin Congress of Parents and Teachers, and the Assembly Democratic Task Force on Working Families. As your Representative I was named a Flemming Fellow by the Center for Policy Alternatives, and as a Fellow by the Bowhay Institute at the La Follette School of Government, UW Madison.
